Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Dr. Kiwimed
Every year, from September 15 to October 15, the United States observes Hispanic Heritage Month—a special time to recognize and celebrate the contributions, culture, and history of Hispanic and Latino communities that enrich this country.
At Dr. Kiwimed, we understand that health is not just physical: it is deeply connected to our identity, traditions, and sense of belonging. That’s why this month, we want to honor the diversity and resilience of our Hispanic patients, who represent a vital part of our community.
Why is Hispanic Heritage Month celebrated?
Hispanic Heritage Month began as a commemorative week in 1968 and was extended to a full month in 1988. The start date, September 15, marks the independence of several Latin American countries including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Chile.

During this month, cultural, educational, and community events are held to highlight the roots, values, and contributions of the Hispanic community in the United States.

A medical team that understands the importance of culture and language in health care

Let’s celebrate together
Hispanic Heritage Month is not just a commemoration–it’s an opportunity to reflect on how we can build a more equitable and representative healthcare system for all.
At Dr. KiwiMed we’re proud to say:
“Where we care for you the way we wish to be cared for.”
