Summer is usually full of fun memories: days at the pool, days at the lake, days at the beach and lots of sunshine. What has been your favorite part of this summer so far?
Dr. Kiwi certainly enjoys having fun in the sun, especially in the water.
Here at Dr. Kiwimed, we want to remind you of some safety tips to keep you safe this summer.
Here are Dr. Kiwi ‘s 10 summer safety tips to keep you healthy from head to toe:
Lungs: Unfortunately, drowning occurs every year during the summer. Toys in the pool can lead to children accidentally falling in. Always consider putting a safety fence around the pool. If you do not know how to swim, it is important to consider swimming lessons.
Brain: It is recommended not to swim alone, especially if you suffer from seizures.
Nose: Beware of freshwater lakes, especially if you travel to developing countries, as some may carry bacteria that can enter through the nose.

Ears: Did you know that swimming can cause itchy ears, also known as swimmer’s ear?
Hair: Pools can have harsh chemicals that often dry out your hair. This can lead to hair damage and result in hair loss.
Stomach: If you are experiencing diarrhea, it is best to avoid swimming.
Skin: It is important to apply sunscreen, but the most important thing is not to forget to reapply it. The sun’s UV rays can cause skin damage and aging.
Don’t Forget Your Shoes!
-It’s important to wear appropriate shoes, especially when stepping on soil.

Dr. Kiwi wants to remind you that summer is all about making beautiful memories, and staying safe helps ensure the fun never stops. Dr. Kiwi and the team at Dr. Kiwimed wish you a safe and splash-filled rest of the season. Don’t forget: your health and safety are always in fashion!
